Katherine and I had always wanted to visit the Think You Got Skillz competition for ages, but we never got around to doing it until the 4th one if I’m not wrong. (There’s the sixth one coming up, check it out here!). Held at the Cloth & Clef, we finally confirmed our attendance and before we know it, her and her sister Sharon got into my car and we zoomed straight to Changkat Bukit Bintang without any clue on how this thing supposedly works!
As per usual, an obligatory shot of the girls with their surroundings. If I’m not wrong it was their first time on that street, touted as one of the busiest night life in KL. I had the honour to show them around (though I was lacking the night life experience, gotta give me a chance lar, I just got back from London aight!)
Deutsche house with their beautiful lights and interesting interiors. One day I’d like to get in to further research the place. Oh, did you know I’m into interior design as well? Betcha didn’t know that ๐
Here’s a better look at the girls. One of them is actually my colleague! Now this should quell the rumours that Investment Bankers aren’t cool AND hot people (what an oxymoron!)
When we arrived at Cloth & Clef, it barely started. Guess 11pm isn’t what you call “on time”, rather, the party only starts past midnight! Which was kinda an issue for us, since we both have to work the very next day ๐ Here’s Kat posing with the wall.
We made it a point for each of us to do it too. Here’s Sharon’s pose. And unfortunately for you (or fortunate for some!) I’m not going to publish mine, cause it’s horrible! Instead, please guide your eyesight on this wonderful photo of me and Eng Hian, which I think is the best photo of me up till now! A close up on the post to come, I promise ๐
Hahahahahahahha!! Anyway, let’s get on to the main gist of this post lol. Sorry for my impromptu vanity shot.
Since we were too early we decided to get ourselves some drinks and grub. Havannah was our best bet, munching on their pizza and sipping cocktails sharing stories proved to be a great time waster until midnight calls! We couldn’t resist taking photo with the christmas tree though. Lol. So yea you should know that this happened quite some time ago. Like, last year ๐
We did hang out in other pubs just to take a look at the design, and here’s 21 (or something like that) for you: a cafe full of mirrors, heaven for all vain people!
Three of us inclusive. Can you spot me in this photo? Or are you too easily distracted by gorgeous faces ๐
A little time left to spare allowed us to take a few artistic shots. Here’s Sharon being a model for stairs background!
And here’s Kat doing her thang! She’s pro hip & hop yo, I kid you not!
I took a dare to shoot this particular shot… Leaving your camera on somebody’s car, exposed for the world to see and with a snatchability score of 9 out of 10 isn’t something you want to do everyday, but at least we got a group shot coming in nicely! ๐
Anyway we went back to Cloth & Clef and found out some group of people were already gathering inside. Luckily for us it wasn’t too stuffy and we managed to get a few shots of ourselves. Like, literally. Here’s Kat trying to blind me. (but came out with some cool effect, no?)
We were on the roll. We took a mugshot ourselves. Pretty clever eh? Ignore the pimple. NOW!
The event itself finally took place well past midnight. Music were spinning, rapping was going on (and there we were, at awe with what our own Malaysian can do at a competition like this!) and the crowd, a mix of international and local coolios, were rocking up the place!
Even Kat swears the Singaporeans don’t do as well as we do!
At the end of it all, some Indian hero took the winning spot, and I have to say he was good, if not for all the swear words he put in each line of his rap. The DJ who organised it was none other than the man himself up there. Kat took the opportunity to hang out late for this photo, and I’m sure she’ll keep it for years to come ๐
So that was really it. We went home pretty late, took a quick bath and fortunately woke up for work the next day, and the both of us inconspicuously blended into our workplace, looking for the world as a typical ordinary investment banker, ready to slave into our work, without so much a flicker of interest from our colleagues that we were secretly major hiphoppers by night ๐
