Introducing the Olympus XZ-1

word is out – I’m no longer a part of Lumix’s Shutterbug program as they have discontinued the plan indefinitely. Such a shame, I was converting people into Lumix fans, too hehe. Nevertheless, the Lumix LX5 shall be missed dearly and since

i’m not going to pay the full price to get another one, I decided to experiment with a new camera…

And it’s none other than the Olympus XZ-1! Having heard good reviews about it, from its Zuiko lense to a very similar Lumix LX5 architecture (even the flash pops up just like the LX5!) I thought I would be a great replacement… And it was either that or the Lumix GF2.

That’s when this baby came to the picture: twin LED lights attached to the top! It just looks so adorable and that’s when I fell in love with it- also the same time RM1,699 left my wallet (not inclusive of extra battery, pouch and light widget thingie- all at RM2,000)

This bill was footed by my father who understands the current situation of my financial status, especially as I’m just starting up with my own company as well as other initiatives that has costed me quite a bit. Thanks dad! Look, your son has turned into Baja Hitam aka the Masked Rider!

And this is how it looks lighted up. Oh, don’t laugh at it- it’s going to be a killer feature in dark times. So there you go- the Lumix LX5 will be officially returned this Tuesday, and the Olympus- she’s my new black baby 😉
