Another vegetarian experience came when Zoe and I decided to locate for gooooood vegetarian food! I guess that happens when we have a self-claim vegetarian and another vegetarian food lover within ourselves π
So we headed to my favourite and cheap but posh restaurant which was Nan King, located at SS2 area, but it was close at 4pm (yea don’t ask why we were having lunch at 4pm!!!) and couldn’t wait for it to reopen at 6pm. That’s when I suggested trying 1 Utama’s Yishenshu, a place I’ve always wanted to go with Koyuuken who’s my Vegetarian food partner. I miss him π
A sneak peak!
Now that I’ve probably got you drooling a little, let’s get on with the review, shall we? π
So we found ourselves in front of the restaurant, located right opposite TGIF and to the right of the escalators. It looks super classy and Zoe thought it was gonna be quite expensive. Well, she wasn’t far off the mark but it was still quite decent, with a dish costing from RM7 to RM16 per dish.
We proceeded to order some of the recommended dish they had on the menu. First up was our Wan Tan Noodles with Soy Char Siew.
The noodles were a bit overcooked, but I love how the Char Siew felt so real with its rough texture and tasty… porkish flavour π It was meant to be shared, together with one portion of brown rice (for the rest of the dishes) that costed RM2.
Then came the vegetables (in a vegetarian restaurant… duh!) which was really fake Abalone served with Mushrooms and Brocolli. Zoe ate most of this, guess she really loves to keep healthy with the number of greens she eats π
Abalone tasted pretty weird, but I suppose you can’t really emulate the real deal eh, otherwise we’ll all happily eat vegetarian food for the rest of our lives and live forever wtf!
Next up was the favourite of our dishes, the Emporer To Fu. Refer to the picture at the top most of this post for its true worth. Tasting so much better than it looks, this dish is a must try! I won’t even want to describe the ingredients, nor the texture of the dish itself, because anything I say won’t do it justice. At all.
Zoe and I had half portion each. And we lapped up the sauce too. The sauce was amazing. How can a sauce be that amazing? I don’t know, but it was. I must go back here to try it again lol. Any takers with me this time round? π
The Honey Chicken came shortly after, which didn’t quite make up to par. Then again I wanted to order something else in the menu that caught my eye, which was a recommended dish, but unfortunately they were sold out. Zoe eats the gingers though, so we ended up finishing this dish too, mostly by me of course. Or was it her? I can’t remember now π
Fact is, I really don’t remember how much I ate, or how much she ate. I’m being serious. She’s one girl who has an appetite of a…. erm… a leopard? (was that what you wore during Wild Life? lol) but ANYWAY the bottom line of it all is that… she has one hell of an apetite!
Take a look at that look on her face. It says “Hmmphh, this much food isn’t anything to me. Are you looking down on me, now?” HAHAHAHA okay i’m just joking. She was nothing but sweet and did nothing but wolf down the food as much as she could π
I would love to talk about our Banana Leaf experience, but that’s a story for another day, right Sue and Yee Hou? XD
So that was the end of our dinner review at Yishensu, 1 Utama, Ground Floor. Service was exceptionaly good, though I was quite disappointed that one of my dishes weren’t available. Price? Just about overpriced, so next time we’ll just settle for Nan King (Dishes there are about RM5-8 after membership discount!)Β Oh well, every cow has its days apparently π
Toodles now!
how much did the food amount to?
the noodles with soy char sau looks good, and so convincing!
*raise hand* me me me!!! i love vegetarian.. come come.. let’s go..
hongyi: Around RM80+, a lot more expensive if compared to NanKing!
