I was there last year. I sure as hell won’t miss this year’s, thanks to BlupBlup!

Yeap, it’s that time of the year again! The concert that many have been waiting for, is finally back to our shores and this time, it’s going to be bigger than ever. The best international, regional and local acts will be performing for your entertainment at the MTV World Stage: Live in Malaysia 2012!

If you remembered last year’s, we got to see 30 Seconds to Mars, Pop Shuvit, Neon Trees and Beast performing throughout the night. X-plosive performances, X-travagant sets with x-tra excitement on the side made it the best MTV World Stage yet – or is it now?

GoMakan.com Launches with Style at Neverland, Kuala Lumpur

The GoMakan.com food portal which claims to be Malaysia’s Best Food Directory was just launched last night, and I was too excited to share it over my blog that I did this post almost immediately after I came back.

It’ll be followed by umpteenth of photos so if you run a 56k beeepoooobepobepooo modem then I suggest you should just go hang yourself 😀

Anyhoo, the first thing I wanted to say is KUDOS to the guys at GoMakan.com for launching the portal in STYLE! While there was no “how to use our portal” section in their itinerary (I was told that they didn’t wanna bore their guests and leave it to them to check it themselves on their own accord, nice!) we were certainly and thoroughly entertained by the hilarious (and sexy!) Joanne Kam which went well with the unlimited number AND variety of food that was sponsored during the whole 4 hours we were there!

Of course the first thing we did was to explore the food stalls that they have INSIDE of Neverland. I mean, what a brilliant concept. Of course me being me, I was too lazy to go a few rounds so I went and took a little of everything at one go. This particular stall attracted me because they served interesting savoury bites in canapes, and it was pretty good! If I’m not wrong, they’re from D’f.i.s.h., check them out at www.dfish.com.my.

Then I tried this really unique apom balik lookalike thingie, topped with 3 different sauces – coconut, spicy chilli and onion sambal. The spicy chilli was honestly too hot for me LOL

Aaliyah (the one at Damansara Heights) made a presence as well, and served cute looking macaroons as well as lovely rolls. They were filling and had nice stuffings, four of them if I remember rightly.

While we were exploring (and Felicia munching on ice cream – nonstop!) Joanne Kam the celebrity host was entertaining the crowd with her usual hamsap antiques, which we all loved! Here’s her looking as cheeky as ever – don’t you just find her so lovable? 😀

Felicia, Yat and Kelly joined us this evening and grabbed as many yummies as they can. The food was inexhaustable for the crowd, which is a good thing! Then of course there was the unlimited booze as well 😉

We even had Mr Cendol providing us endless supply of Malaysia’s best known delicacy!

We waited quite a while for the Mentaiko Sushi to be prepared at Fukuharu’s stall, which was always finished! The restaurant has apparently been quite talked about lately, and why not – the food was delicious! Anyhoo there was so many stalls around but I don’t wanna put too many stuff on this blogpost, so do check my Facebook for more pics. In the meantime, Joanne ran some lucky draws and games to entertain the crowd, and it definitely did.

She started by inviting 5 guys up the stage, and even managed to embarass some of them, saying things like “Eh why you looking at me while eating the Siew Pao ah? My one is Tai Pao ok!” LOLOLOL!

Basically what they needed to do is to get blindfolded, taste the food in front of them and guess the food name as well as the vendor who created it. Poesy Liang was also called to be the contestant as you can see, her face a priceless perfection!

Another lady (I think she can be spotted at GoMakanTV’s video as well!) was up there too, and she’s another looker! Both Poesy and her stole the limelight lah haha. Joanne definitely knows how to pick well 😛

Back then, when the web was just a dark digital matrix filled with zeros, a light shone through and suddenly, messages could be sent across beyond countries, easily, manageably and *gasps* for FREE!

That was the Hotmail that we’ve all come to love, and the one where we used all sorts of funky nicknames as our user handle (mine was Funkyboy, can you believe it?! What’s yours?) and even though there were more e-mail providers after that such as Yahoo!, Rocketmail among others, Hotmail was still the best… until Mr G came about, of course. Suddenly, everything that we were used to doing, Mr G made it easier, and it stayed for a while until Microsoft got worried.

So Hotmail Just Got Even Smarter

Yeap, the largest web-based mail service in the world (yeap, still is!) turned 15th last October, experienced (a much needed) facelift for its user base of over 360 million globally and can now unclutter your e-mail with remarkably efficient spam filtering and intuitively intelligent graymail management. Wait – say WHAT?!

Graymail, what?

In 2012, an average email inbox will receive 14,600 emails. By 2015, that number will grow to 15,300 emails in a year. I’m guessing you and I get more than most, too! The reason for such a rapid rise in number of received emails is due the newsletters and notifications we sign up for, i.e. promotions from our favourite stores, social updates, newsletters and many more. Over time, as we keep on signing for more newsletters and notifications, these messages quickly start cluttering our inbox.

And guess what? According to Barrie Ooi, Head of Windows Live, Microsoft Asia Pacific, 50% of all emails received today are made up of newsletters and notifications that have increased by a whopping 300% in 2011 alone.

“Only 14% of emails in our inboxes are true people-to-people communications and astonishingly, spam takes up only 3% of space in an average inbox. Our inboxes are quickly becoming a depository of newsletters and notifications that we want but for the most part, we don’t have time to read and it fast become irrelevant, turning into clutter that makes it hard to find emails we need. These solicited emails – emails that we willingly subscribe to but which are taking up a large chunk of our inbox space is called “graymail” and today, up to 80% of all email sitting in an average inbox is graymail,” he said.

Hotmail: The Smarter Email

Making sense of email is Hotmail’s main focus, which is why Hotmail has added a special category for newsletters. Whether the user has signed up to receive a weekly communication on fashion, travel or shopping deals, Hotmail is 95% accurate in filtering the newsletter emails into a dedicated folder. This process of identification improves as the user builds on this feature by categorizing or un-categorizing his/her emails – enabling them to prioritize what is most relevant. By categorizing, it not only improves the filtering for themselves but for every Hotmail user.

According to a recent survey conducted by Microsoft, users spend 35 minutes each day checking emails
