So we were invited to a mysterious party one fine day. One that involves a lot of good food, great friends, and one little extra ingredient nobody could have expected, especially in a place like Pizza Hut: blindfolds.
The bunch of us were seated and promised a sumptious dinner, but little did we know that we’d had a surprise waiting for us! Oh yes, a surprise worth more than our awesome Red Carpet goodie bag filled with hundreds ringgit worth of voucher, a beautiful card-sized hard disk and a sweet bag tag – LOVE!
Nevertheless, we all put on our blindfolds like an expert (God knows why everybody was so comfortable being blindfolded in a restaurant open to public ROFL!) and here as you can see, @Vernieman took it a step further by attempting a camwhoring stunt blindfolded!
That goes for us as well, but luckily for us, it wasn’t as dodgy as we’d expected (though I know for sure SOME were anticipating otherwise :P). The blindfold was actually to allow our nose and tastebuds to really appreciate the return of #Cheesy7 pizza series.
@BroFramestone, Damion Chee, @imtheJessicat, Kon, Saiful, Dennis, Brian, @Vernieman, @icallitart, @missyblurkit, @spinzer (yours truly), Ruby, @Kruel74 and Nani, Caroline and @CheeChingy can be seen savouring the moment between 4 pizzas with their truly distinctive taste!
We were then asked to rate the 4 pizzas, and here I am giving my ultimate vote to #Cheesy7 Pizza 1 that tasted very much like an exploding Super Supreme. Yeap, exploding with a lot of cheesy goodness, that is!
#Cheesy7 Pizza 2 was a Seafood-type for sure, but the base has a hint of mushroom-cheesy sauce that was oh so awesomely thick. To me though, I would rank it 4th place, after #Cheesy7 Pizza 3 then 4, which feels to me like Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and Beef Pepperoni respectively – except with more cheesy goodness (all 7 diff types!) + crunchy onions and green capsicum!
that the #Cheesy7 series brought back last year’s POW with a UNIQUE flair to them this time round, and thus got our approval to BRING #Cheesy7 BACK!
I wish I could write more to be more creative, to be honest, but since I couldn’t find my older photos of me celebrating my childhood birthdays with Pizza Hut pizzas in time, I just had to blog like this first. Pizza Hut has always brought back many memories for me, from the day I turned 1 or 2 years old till recent years, there’s nothing like a birthday party without my favourite Pan-styled Regular Crust Pizza and the little table thingie that has been my candle holder since forever. Maybe one day I could share about it yeah? Hehe…
The <3 phenomenon is something I don't quite get. It started about 3 days ago, where out of a sudden a number of my friends on Facebook began to post the <3 status, usually without followed by any description. It looks something like below.
Why it was started, for what purpose, I don’t think we’d ever come to know. But what I DO know is how VIRAL it became. This is my attempt to explain WHY:
1. The emotion is shared and relevant to others
Love is a great feeling that people want to associate with. Why do you think those TVB dramas became a hit? So naturally when you see someone posting on <3, you'd also want to do the same
2. Curiousity
The other thing is for WHOM the <3 is intended for. Sometimes we can't help but to feel a little perasan and imagine that the recipient of the <3 is for you. And so, to be safe, you reply with your own <3 in your own wall and hope the other person "gets it".
3. Mystery
If you think that the person cannot be you, then more often than note you’re thinking who the <3 was intended for. We Malaysians are very "pat” in general so we want to know if that person has a new love life that we don’t know about. This air of mystery is what the poster likes to have as well, because let’s face it, being mysterious is cool.
So yes as you can see I did the <3 post too and am waiting to see what can be derived from it. My reason? To have the allure of mystery of course, and who knows, I may reach out to someone I like and get myself a partner by Chrismas who I can share a kiss with under the mistletoe 😉
So far, it could be one of these three darlings of mine but I’d really only be okay with Karena hehe ;p
Glenmorangie’s famously orange themed party happened last night, themed “Unnecessarily Well Made“. I thought it was sexy, and hence, took some time off my schedule to chill in this high rolling partay 😉 How could I not as the Orange Eclectic Pulse Party was hosted by none other than Hong Kong’s most in-demand DJ – Miss Yellow – and of course with some good ol’ single malt scotch whisky, yee haw!
Glenmorangie Orange Eclectic Pulse
Date: 29 Sept 2012 Time: 10pm till late Venue: STAGE, Avenue K
And when I say high rolling, I really mean premium party baby, the BIGGEST Orange event of the year. Take a look at who I saw? None other than the gorgeous Zher Peen or rather known as @thepeenut on Twitter. At that point I told myself I needed to touch base with her, cos I’ve been a fan since some time ago 😉
Of course I brought myself in, and since I came alone, it was a perfect opportunity to network… not with the girls, but with some of Malaysia’s who’s who 😉
My first time at Stage KL told me that the place was a little on the premium level, while the VIP area just oozed class. Comfy and dark, it was perfect for some great cozy flirting, or just plain networking, whichever that rocks your boat 😉 I also saw some representatives from Glenmorangie and G2 – twas great to meet you guys!
The usual suspects were there, beginning with the popular and talented @DennisLauViolin. This man is one person I truly admire, creating a musical path for himself as a professional electric violinist celebrity that he is today! Not only that, this guy trains budding talented ones as well, and help boost them up into the scene. I owe this guy big time 😉
There she was. @thepeenut is exactly who I think she is – super friendly, gorgeous and… well… sweet! I really hope to be able to meet her some day again, and plan out this DJ roundtable I’ve always wanted to do at @EYEProject hehe. Hope for me please!
Before I digress, let it be known that Miss Yellow appeared just then, and the whole floor roared in approval. From the dance clubs of London to Singapore, DJ Miss Yellow is not an unfamiliar sight imposing the entertainment commerce. Coming from Hong Kong and fathoming a chromatic path as an artist, model and TV personality in her homeland, the chameleon has played the world over and shared stages with the likes of A-Trak, 2 Many DJs and Fatboy Slim among others – that’s something to go crazy for!
She has SWAG yo. Along with lots of funky club- themed engagements and delicious Glenmorangie single malt whisky, too 😉 It was truly a night of pulsating zest and gusto; along with the perfect chance to relish in the hedonistic enjoyment of the “Unnecessarily Well Made” Glenmorangie single malt whisky .
But what’s a night out without great company eh? Luckily I was surrounded by both old and new friends, and we danced, and sang, and did all kinds of stuff that cannot be written on this blog HAHA!
A party is not complete without my man, Darren Ashley himself yo! This musical genius joined the fun and brought the house down haha. Far Out is still constantly playing wherever I go – it’s too awesome yo!
This would be Darren Ashley and Andrea – and boy can the former dance, while the latter screamed. Can pierce eardrums and break glasses okay, no joke 😛
Anyhow a good night must come to an end. Many a glass later, it was time to say goodbye to my new found friends. They were amazing, them. Kay is like my long lost brother, and Andrea is one gorgeous girl from Ipoh that attracted the photographers attention LOL! Can’t wait to share with you when they upload them haha.
Later on Kay, Andrea and I went to mamak to watch football and that was a sweet end to the night. Nah one bonus picture of Andrea herself. Yes, she’s a big fan of @MisterGermani and asked me to get the band for her, deliver it to Ipoh when it comes out, and I promised that I will haha. Go follow her on Twitter at @Drea_Gasm, or even better go order macaroons from her – apparently one of the best ones in Ipoh yo! Nah, Facebook page (with a very original name, btw) for you to like 😉
Honestly it was thanks to a night of Orange Eclectic Pulse, an experience for all single malt lovers that I had a good night out. Here’s looking forward to more parties and events by Glenmorangie in the future! Do check out Glenmorangie’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/GlenmorangieMalaysia for their latest happening events and updates. For more photos click here. Cheers!
I’ve always known that Malaysians have loads of talents that are yet to be unearthed, due to a circumstance that I describe as “Cantfident“, which I will explain one day (too lazy now). In my bid to “mengcungkil” all these talents, I stumbled upon the Malaysian Youtube scene about half a year ago, and said that the Malaysian YouTube community is bound to get bigger.
That time came when OMG Malaysia surfaced. While currently consisting of 5 Malaysian YouTube channels that you should be familiar with by now, they are NOT a closed platform and all they are asking is for YOU to showcase your videos in order to be supported by these guys, and be part of OMG. Currently, the YouTubers are all from Kuala Lumpur/Selangor area only.
In any case they have just organized their first OMG Live event yesterday and I was one of the lucky few who got in as a VIP, many thanks to @dan_khoo Productions! For that, you should go subscribe to his channel NAO 😛
With an event poster like this, who WOULDN’T have gone, eh?! Free somemore. In any case, I booked this slot out regardless of how busy I was this weekend, just to be able to meet a few key characters, mainly Darren Ashley aka @DazzaAshley and the founder of WAMM, Michael Chen aka @michaelcsm, apart from the obvious main characters of course!
Yes, not only did they make me feel like my presence truly did matter (when it really didn’t :P), they also provided everyone who came with a free RM10 voucher to be spent at www.dsyr.com, a cool marketplace to get cool stuff. Haha.
Did you see that? FULL HOUSE baby. I’m hoping to see a larger stage for the next OMG event, and MORE people should come to support these awesome guys because they have TALENT. Didn’t all of you watch and share their youtube videos? Next time don’t just click here and there, get your arses out of that chair and support too okay!
The show couldn’t have started if not for these two amazing emcees of course. They would be @dmingthing and @mistergermani. I’ve said what I said about them in my previous blogpost, ’nuff said.
The first performance was by this new band I’ve not seen before, called Bob the Sausage. Don’t ask me why they called it that, but do follow their performance on Youtube – pretty wicked! Even Joseph love them enough to sit with them haha.
Of course we had LOADS of comedy relief happening in between the performances. Lead by Ming Yue aka @mingyism, an accidental Youtube superstar as I would call him, these acts often make us laugh until it hurts haha… Some say even better than comedy shows lor!
Then comes this all important scene, where Ming Han’s “Alone, Forever?” video came to real life. Watching my favourite Youtube actress Marianne doing the scene with Ming made my legs go jelly again… Oh man <3
Then of course there’s the #Skyward people… consisting of people I really, really like and admire. Yes, all 3 of them – Ming Han (@dmingthing), Charis Ow (@charisow) and Ming Yue (mingyism) make up #Skyward and they have a really lovely voice. Funnily enough, it was this song that made me so obsessed with them. Make more covers and get more performances with Youtube stars worldwide guys, I have HIGH expectations from you!
Dan Khoo‘s turn, and he did the very thing he loves doing in his free time – a directing game lol. Well, it was fun and the footage is now available on his channel. Go watch it!
First time meeting the people at @GRIMFILM and boy were they awesome. Their movies truly evoke emotions that, in all honesty, we try hard to hide to appear cool. Look out for them as they continue to produce awesome films and hopefully, feature-length films in the future!
Having @ShawnLeeBeatbox in your event is a must, nothing I can say to truly describe the amount of talent this small boy has… the way he produces HUGE SOUNDS is a phenomenon, really! Man, if only you were there to see his performance, WOW!
These guys don’t need any introduction. With multiple videos amassing up to 2 million hits on Youtube, they are the very same guys who bring you international Youtubers and even collaborate with them in some of their videos. Both @jinnyboy and @reubenkang make up for their weaknesses with strengths they both possess, making them a couple not to be messed with. While Jin Lim, for all his cool demeanor as a Radio DJ, ability to push content out to the market effectively and attractive personality, is well suited to be the face of #JinnyBoyTV, Reuben Kang, for all his crafty ideas, storytelling abilities and finally, his cuteness that has made a lot of fans fall for him, handles everything from the storyboard to technical magic that you often see in the videos.
If anybody is going to put Malaysia on the global map, it will be them. Malaysia #BOLEH!
And finally we have @DazzaAshley with his long awaited performance. Seriously, his music made me trash in ecstasy, the very definition of #eargasm. Among all the local bands I supported such as @Kyotoband, sometimes it’s hard to go a step further when the music doesn’t gel with you…. well, in his case, EDM is his forte and EDM is MY VIAGRA! Hence, this man is a musical genius to watch and I cannot wait to attend any of his events again in the future! DAMN!
That was the last of it and I’m glad I did come… met so many people, especially the “behind the scenes” ones like Bryan here. We talked a lot and promised we would dedicate an event day to the BACKGROUND people haha… and maybe called it “GMO: The forgotten heroes”? LOL!
8TV Quickie featured a short clip on what happened during #OMGmy Live, produced by Raffi Th’ng.
WATCH IT AND EXPLODE!
Congratulations to the Malaysian Youtubers aka organizers #OMGmy for making it happen, and for WAMM for hosting them. Malaysia would not be as cool as it is now if not for you guys. I am always waiting to see what else you will come up with and offer you my full support!! Go subscribe to their channels now!
